  1. Name:
    The name of this organization shall be Nikkei Senior Golfers.

  2. Purpose:
    The purpose of this club shall be for enjoyment and to promote friendships through golf.

  3. Meetings:
    Meetings shall be called by the President as is deemed necessary. Two lunch meetings will be held per year, Shinnen-kai in January and the Major Tournament in August. Installation will take place at this time in August every other year.

  4. Membership:
    1. Incoming members must be 55 years of age or older.
    2. Membership shall be limited to 100 persons (50 couples).
    3. Applicants for membership must be sponsored by a member of this organization and applications forwarded to the President.
    4. In the event of an opening, the Board shall determine when to accept applications for membership. Applications are forwarded to the Treasurer.
    5. All new members must have an official SCGA, Public Links or equivalent index not exceeding 28 for men and 36 for women.
    6. Applicants must play at least one round with the club, the round shall be with an Executive Board Member, prior to being considered for membership.
    7. Acceptance of new members shall be made by the Board.
    8. New members can join at anytime with a prorated rate of $10/month. New members must join anytime in March to be eligible to participate in the Major.

  5. Social Member:
    1. The Social Member is defined as a player who wishes to enjoy the game of golf socially but not competitively. The applicant must be a member in good standing for a period of 5 (five) years prior to becoming eligible for Social Member status.
    2. The Social Member shall notify the President of member's wish to be a Social Member in January, and this status shall continue for the entire year. The Social Member status is for the individual player only.
    3. The Social Member may play in the monthly tournaments but will not participate in the tournament itself. There will be a blind draw in member's place for the team. The member may, however, be allowed to participate in the year-end major tournament held in August of each year, provided that the member has continued to maintain his/her handicap.
    4. Handicap: In order to maintain member's handicap, the member must turn in his/her scorecards, using the ESC (Equitable Stroke Control) system of the USGA. This enables the member to participate in the year-end major tournament, and, in the event the member wishes to return to regular member status, the member may do so in the following year.
    5. The green fees stated on the sign-up sheet include a $6 charge for the pot; therefore, the green fees will be $6 less than the stated amount.

  6. Officers and Board:
    1. The Board shall select the new President elect.
    2. The President shall appoint his/her own cabinet which will be comprised of a President-elect, secretary, club treasurer, and handicap chairperson.
    3. The Board will consist of the cabinet members plus the Past President.
    4. The Board members shall serve for a term of 2 years.
    5. Other committee chairpersons may be appointed by the President as needed.

  7. Officers' Duties:
    1. President:
      1. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Club and Board, and call special meetings as deemed necessary.
      2. The President shall make arrangements for overnight accommodations for outings that are not part of a package.
      3. The President shall edit club newletters when necessary and send monthly tournament results to the newpapers.
      4. The President shall maintain an album of pictures, newspaper articles of events and/or other memorabilia during the term of office.
      5. The President shall make arrangements for Shinnen-kai and August installation banquet.
    2. President - Elect
      1. President - Elect will aid the President in all respects when needed.
      2. Appoint tournament chairperson for the monthly tournaments as well as the away tournaments as needed.
        - Inform chairperson of tournament guidelines and advise of responsibilities.
      3. Keep record of tournament participants in order to assign tournament chairperson responsibilities in a fair and equitable manner.
      4. Responsible for selecting tournament sites for the following year.
        Recommendation: Select courses, one year in advance on a monthly basis in order to have proper cash flow for deposits, course availability, etc.
        - Tournament year is 10 months (September through August - dark in December and January.
        - Keep file of tournament contacts and send copy to Treasurer in order to post deposits in a timely manner.
    3. Secretary:
      1. Shall keep record of minutes for all Board and club meetings.
      2. Shall be responsible for all correspondence for the club.
      3. Shall publicize tournaments and special events.
      4. Shall send cards to ailing and surviving members of deceased.
      5. Shall maintain the organization's membership roster.
      6. Shall accumulate information for tournament schedule and print out schedule for tournament yerar to be passed out in January at Shinnen-kai.
      7. Shall print out sign-up stubs appropriate for tournament schedule for the year.
    4. Club Treasurer:
      1. The treasurer shall maintain an account for the club with three signatures of President, Treasurer and Secretary. Club checks must have two (of three) Signatures.
      2. Receive and disburse funds and maintain financial records of the club.
      3. The treasurer shall maintain "hole-in-one" pot.
      4. Collect annual membership dues in August.
      5. Receive tournament entries (sign-up stubs) and send list of player/indices to participants and tournament chairperson.
    5. Handicap Chairperson:
      1. Keep records of all scores on outings and check that golf scores accurately adjusted and correctly utilized for future outings.
